Construction of Coyote Crossing Golf Course began in early 1998, and the course was opened to the public on June 7, 2000.  The course is owned and operated by Coyote Crossing, LLC and was  designed by Hale Irwin.

Hale Irwin Golf Design is a nationally recognized company that specializes in design, architecture, and construction of courses throughout the world.   Founded in 1986, Hale Irwin Golf Design provides technical expertise and construction observation for specific terrain.   Hale, himself, was fully involved from the design process through completion of construction of Coyote Crossing Golf Course.

 Irwin believes a course must incorporate two critical design elements: the existing environment and land planning objectives. Coyote Crossing's features epitomize Irwin's design philosophy.   Coyote Crossing, LLC is the developer and owner of Coyote Crossing Golf Course.   This beautiful, public course opened on June 7th, 2000.  

Owners John and June Scheumann are local residents of Lafayette and also own Scheumann Properties, Inc.
